Our Proposals
Design Development

Landscape-led
The primary design objectives have been to create a collection of new homes which contribute towards a well-designed and integrated extension to Totton (set within the wider SS1 allocation), whilst maintaining the forest-edge character of Pauletts Lane and the wider Calmore area.
Around 60 new homes are proposed, comprising mostly family housing, including affordable homes. The layout is shaped by the landscape, with green buffers, protected trees, and water/drainage features integrated throughout.
Strong Local Connections
A clear network of roads and footpaths will connect homes to Salisbury Road, green spaces south and east of the site, and Totton more widely. The recreational greenspace in the southern portion of the site will connect with other nearby development parcels and provide doorstep greenspace for existing and future residents in north Totton.
The draft layout has also been designed to accommodate a number of constraints, including various protected trees, other vegetation, an area of surface water flooding and an overhead electrical line.
Reflecting Local Character
We anticipate that our plans will be an extension of the existing high-quality housing design and materials seen in north Totton, including our already approved ‘west of Hill Street’ development, which benefits from planning permission. On-site work to deliver these new homes will commence later this year.
The housing design and materials will echo the existing high-quality precedents set there, and within north Totton and Calmore generally.
